Tsunami
September 29, 2009 will forever live in our hearts as the day it changed the course of Pacific history, and especially for Samoa and Tonga. The extensive loss of lives and total devastation will take time heal, but as peoples of the Pacific, we are united in the belief that the Lord is our foundation and He will comfort and support us in these challenging times.
I ask you to be mindful of all students and families especially whose relatives were lost in the tsunami.
Launch of revised Samoan Guidelines and MUA O!
The Gagana Samoa Guidelines and MUA O! were launched on Friday, September 18, 2009 at Tangaroa College. The minister of Pacific Island Affairs and the Secretary for Education were there along with MOE staff, school principals and reps, community members as well as students from various schools. Copies of the guidelines will be sent to schools while MUA O! was not available for dissemination.
